Anna Ugryumova
ABOUT ARTIST
Based in Berlin, Anna Ugryumova is a contemporary artist whose work is defined by a refined sense of aesthetics, materiality, and emotional depth. Her creative journey began in the world of fashion, where she spent many years as a fashion designer with her own brand, creating collections that inspired and dressed thousands of women. This experience continues to shape her artistic language through a sophisticated understanding of texture, composition, color, and fine detail.
Her painting process is intuitive and organic. Rather than following predetermined concepts, each work evolves naturally through a dialogue between color, texture, and form, allowing emotion and movement to guide the composition.
Inspired by nature, architecture, interiors, and travel, she creates paintings that evoke atmosphere and establish a subtle emotional connection with the spaces they inhabit. Often, while a work is still in progress, she can already envision it becoming part of its future collector’s home.
Her works are held in private collections internationally, and she collaborates with selected galleries. Through her artistic practice, Anna creates timeless works that bring depth, harmony, and a distinctive presence to contemporary interiors.

ABOUT ART CURATOR
Curating begins form me with listening to the artist, to the work, and to the space in which it will be experienced. In my ongoing collaboration with Anna as her curator, I create the conditions in which her work can be experienced in meaningful dialogue with the spaces and audiences it encounters. My practice is rooted in close collaboration: listening to the artist, understanding the character of a place and developing thoughtful contexts that allow her paintings to unfold with clarity and authenticity. Rather than shaping a single interpretation, I seek to create opportunities for individual experience, reflection and lasting engagement.
My relationship with art has been shaped by a lifelong immersion in the cultural world. Before focusing on curatorial work, I co-ran an established contemporary art gallery in Barcelona, working closely with internationally recognized artists, collectors and institutions. This experience deepened my understanding of the relationship between artistic practice, exhibitions and the people who engage with them. Alongside this, a private Belle Époque collection featuring works by Léon Bakst and Alexandre Benois has profoundly influenced my appreciation of art's historical continuity and cultural significance.
For me, curating is an act of creating meaningful encounters. It is about shaping the conditions in which art can be experienced with openness and attention, allowing lasting connections between artwork, space and viewer to emerge.
